In Art, Year 5 have been Making Monotypes using techniques such as painting, drawing, mark-marking and carbon copying. The children created their own zines based on an autumn poem titled 'Ghost in The Garden'. The children started by making their own individual zine, painting backgrounds using autumn shades and using these to cut out different shapes and imagery based on the style of the artist 'Matisse'. After they had collaged these on top, the children added words and phrases to represent the poem using carbon copy paper. I'm sure you'll agree that they look fantastic and I am super proud of their fantastic effort! 

Also,  this half-term, Year 5 have been learning about Forces in Science. They have carried out a scientific investigation into 'air resistance' in teams to find out whether the surface area of a parachute affects the speed at which it travels.
